Translating Color

December 14, 2016 No Comments

A multimedia exhibition that melds the work of artists from New England and Cape Verde Islands will have its opening reception Saturday from 3-5 p.m. at The Gallery at Whitney Center.

“Traduzino Cor” (or “Translating Color”) will feature works that use color to communicate ideas about personal and cultural identity and nature, says a release from the presenter of the show, the Arts Council of Greater New Haven, in “a cross-cultural conversation that examines the universality of color as a powerful, expressive language of its own.”

Curated by the Debbie Hesse and Jose Monteiro, the show will be available for view Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-7 p.m. and Saturdays from 1-4 p.m. at the gallery, 200 Leeder Hill Drive, south entrance. It is free, as is the public reception, which will also feature artist talks from 2- 3 p.m.
